Killigans are once again ready to blow the doors off Knickerbocker’s for another St. Patrick’s Day celebration! Saturday, March 17th
Joining us for the early show will be Youth in Asia, and Lincoln’s freshest ska band, the Incredible Heat Machine. Late show will feature the ever-popular Good With Guns, and Vandon Arms (from Des Moines).
Killigans will be giving away a limited number of sampler CDs which feature 3 tracks from the upcoming album “One Step Ahead of Hell.” Get there early to make sure you get a copy!
In other news - we are playing the night before (Friday March 16th) in Omaha at the brand new 1% Productions venue - the Waiting Room Lounge!
We will be sharing the stage with Omaha’s Virgasound, and possibly one more band tba. Poster coming soon!
We will be making an extra special guest appearance for the Blazes 15th anniversary at PO Pears in Downtown LIncoln THIS friday the 2nd of March. Thats tomorrow. We will go on at 6:20pm SHARP. We will be done by 6:50 SHARP. If we play longer, one of us may lose a finger to the bar owners. Beer and Food Specials all day, and come out and see us play the shortest most rockingest set ever.
Well everyone, we are one step closer to having our second full length in our hands. “One Step Ahead of Hell” will pick up where “Brown Bottle Hymnal” left off. Chock full of suprises, and singalongs and hooks to keep you downing your rum or whiskey all night long. 12 songs, a couple crazy re-releases to keep all the old fans happy, american sea shanties, punktry and western, folk punk anthems, and sappy love songs should keep you coming back to this album for any occasion. Hopefully. We’ve been working very hard to make this the best we can and hopefully it shows through. Howie down in KC at Mr Furious records is furiously mastering the disc as we speak. —-Saint Patricks day is rapidly approaching. We are still finalizing our set of shows for the weekend. Heres what I know.
—-March 12th, Zoo Bar. Lincoln. This is the annual KZUM benefit “Getting Jiggy With It” (thats my white boy interpretation of the title). It will be some local Irish artists and us. Was a good time last year. This will be a good chance to come see us actually play some Irish tunes we normally dont play at other shows.
—-March 16th, Us, at the waiting room in omaha. THis is One Percents new venue opening up in the Benson area that night. Still dont know who the opener is. Could it be…you?
—-March 17th, Knickerbockers Early All Ages. Just booked this week. So far its Youth in Asia, The Killigans, and one more TBA. Specially designed for all the kiddie shredders out there. I hear a rumor that Boycaught may be coming around for this show. Dont hold me to it though
—-March 17th, Knickerbockers Late 18+. Us, and DesMoines own “the Vandon Arms” Check them out on the latest PaddyRock Compilation. Great guys, and killer drinking tunes. I think they dub it “Pub Rock” This will make to be one unforgettable night. Or if all goes well, you wont remember much the next day other than the rocking. yeah.

The cd brown bottle hymnal is reaching the end of our stock. if you havent picked one up yet, now is the time. Im not sure when the next time we will have them will be after they sell out.
We are finally done tracking the new cd. It took about a month, but finally, we did it. It sounds very good, and the music is going to be awesome. just you wait and see. Im warning you.

New Years was great! We had a blast! Thanks for everyone for coming out! If you didn’t know- there was close to a foot of snow on the ground, and yet, nearly 200 people still managed to make it out for the show!!!
In other news- Killigans were selected as the 2nd Best local album of 2006, by the Lincoln Journal Star. So that’s pretty cool.
Also- Killigans are up for an award in the category of “Punk” at the FIRST ever Omaha Entertainment Awards… which is tonight in Omaha. A few of us are going up for this “red carpet” event… in which we are up against SOJH, JV Allstars and My Raging Mind.

the Killigans head into the studio beginning this week, to record their highly anticipated follow-up to “Brown Bottle Hymnal.” You may have noticed that we didn’t play very often this fall, and the few times we did, didn’t seem to have any new songs. Well, guess what? We’ve been saving them up to blow your mind.
We’ll be recording over a dozen tracks, the final number for the album to be decided when we wrap it up. This album will run the gamut from balls-out rock to tear-jerking ballad, from country bumpkin to Celt punk - and everything in between! We are pulling out all the stops, and we will give you one hell of a thrill ride when we’re done!
We are also playing a show on NEW YEAR’S EVE that should leave you shredded, cock-eyed, and ready for love. We’re talking about the best show of the year, with all our new songs to boot! One of Lincoln’s finest bands, DOMESTICA!, will come on first to crush your feeble bodies in to a fine powder, which we will douse with beer and stir into a mud-like putty, then we will mold you back into the fine people you once were, with the added benefit of just being rock’d up, and maybe knock’d up, by the Killigans. Don’t miss it.

Ben has rolled out version 2.3 of the killigans webpage. Its obviously still under construction, but you can still click around and find what you need. Its going to make it easier for us to update from now on, and hopefully easier for people to find info, and various pictures of brad walking his dog, and mowing his lawn in his cut off jeans and other neat stuff like that. So we want to hear suggestions from you people who actually might visit this site once in awhile. new blog……show friday at Lincolns own Zoo bar. The killigans and 4020. Whenever we hook up its sure to be one hell of a big mess at the end of the night….The zoo only holds around 150 people, and I will personally guarantee this show will be packed to the brim. Come see Lincolns craziest drinkinest roots punk bands on the best sound system in town….9pm friday the 15th.

We are currently shopping around studios to record our new album in. We are hoping to get in the later part of october, and hope to have this out by early next year. We are hoping to release around 10 tracks. We really want to focus on some great roots/folk punk sounds, and also showcase edwin on the pipes on a song or two.
Ive been wanting to start this up for awhile now, but havent had much time. I go the idea from an old Link80 website. Im going to try and introduce it here…..
FAN OF THE MONTH:
basically, we are looking for our fans locally, and from around the world to shoot us an email with a pic outlining who they are, what they do, and why they listen to our music. I think this will be a great way for us to meet some of the people we talk to over email and get to meet some people who we wont normally get to at shows
. In addition to being chosen as our FOM, we will send out a little package with some merch and other good stuff in it. We will post your pic and story up on the site for the entire month.

Saturday, we are heading up towards Chicago to play at Kryptonite in Rockford IL. Its a little bit outside Chicago. Show starts at 9, and its free.
